Doughnut Vault, Chicago

Posted on January 17, 2013 by Tim Tolbert

After following their Twitter and Tumblr feeds for several months I just couldn’t take it anymore and made a point to visit the Doughnut Vault in Chicago during my last whirlwind visit. The brainchild of Chicago World Conqueror, Brendan Sodikoff, Doughnut Vault does business out of the back entryway of another Sodikoff establishment, the Gilt Bar.

After a 35 minute wait in line before they opened on a recent Saturday morning, I was rewarded with the opportunity to complete my purchase of an Old Fashioned Buttermilk and the special that day, a Mixed Berry Jelly Filled.  They also offered a free cup of Joe but due to the early morning freeze I hurriedly scampered off to the nearest Starbucks outpost in River North and eagerly opened up my two disc parcel.

I think this award winning video short from Mode Project below sums up well what I may attempt to describe so please enjoy.
